Main Plotline: The Skalds sing that Odin Allfather sacrificed himself to great pain to attain power in the Nine Worlds. For nine holy days he hung upon the bark of Yggdrasil and endured pain untold. When he was done Odin learned the great power of the Runes and with that came the true knowledge of magic. After a time Odin went among his people in Midgard and to every rightful and just Chief he taught the Futhark Runes. Magic spread through the tribes as the Aesir spread the teachings to help protect against the evil Trolls and Frost Giants of Jotunheim.
Midgard for centuries as stood as a home of humanity and other mortal beings. The Trolls have assaulted the tribes and for centuries the humans of Midgard have prayed to the Aesir. However, with the rise of magic came advancement and the coming tide of Kings. The Clans of the Midgarders were united time and time after again as the tribes came under the rule of the Petty Kings. Now as the water gathers a new era is arriving as the tides of the last battle come calling.
In Uppland, a Kingdom on the frozen northern sea the old king is dying. Years have passed as Ulf Ravenseer lord of all Svear in Uppland is nearing his end. During his reign the warrior dead were sent to the heroic lands of Vahalla. But as his time comes to an end his son is still to young to rule. Yet he cannot control the arguing Jarls and Hersars of his Hall. For monsters stalk the winter night as the longships find no plunder.
